Rain pouring down

When I came home from work today it started raining. And it was sort of a relive. I took the dog for a walk and we hade the path all to ourselves, and the rain sort of washed my headache away.

A room with a view

We went looking at a house today. Far out on the countryside. And I think that this could be the place.

Fingers crossed.

A small silver buckle

Yesterday we went to a flea market on the other side of the city whit one of my (two) older brothers. Although the place where sort of half closed due to vacation Daniel and my brother bought a lot of different things (lamps, old comics, pots). I found a little vase that I like lot. It isn’t signed or dated but my guess is that it’s made during the fifties.

What else have I’ve been up to? Not much. It’s still hot as in an oven here and I’m trying to really enjoy doing nothing, since these are the last days of my summer holiday. I’ve made a bracelet though – purple lambskin ribbon made in to a bow whit a small silver buckle.

Grocery shopping and cross stitching

We went shopping for groceries earlier today. We bought some food, but apart from that I made an unexpected bargain - an almond mill. I've been wanting one for a while now, but have been looking for a new and unused one (they get blunt after a few years), one with a bit of a vintage look. And this one is exactly how I pictured it! And it didn’t cost more than fifteen dollars.

After shopping I finished up a cross-stitch design that I draw some weeks ago. I’m not totally happy with the proportions, and Ill probably change some details before making it into a kit (for selling).

On my wish list

My birthday is coming up. And yes I'm old. And yes I already got most of the things that I need. But still, when it comes to birthdays I’ll guess that I'm pretty childish. I can’t help my self. Here is my whish list... ..a really short and humble one.

1. Botanical Illustrations - Plants and Their Application to Ornament. The cover of this book is the most gogerous one I've ever seen. And I'm a sucker for ornaments as well as for botanical illustrations.

2. A vintage style world globe. Whether we like it or not Autumn is sneaking up on us. I would love to have a illuminated globe at my desk in dark October evenings.

3. A Dictionary Necklace - Scissors from Foundandmades Etsy shop would make my day!

4. Vintage Pastery Mold. I really need them for my next project. And they are not expensive at all...

Ulriksdals Garden Center excursion

The outdoor temperature is up to almost 86 Fahrenheit today. But instead of going swimming at one of the (guaranteed overcrowded) public baths nearby, we went for a small day trip to Ulriksdals Garden Center. I really like strolling around in the huge Greenhouses, and could have stayed there like forever if I hadn’t gone so hungry! Fortunately they have a great café where I went Italian and hade a quite tasty focaccia whit mozzarella and tomatoes. Daniel hade a traditional Swedish sandwich whit smoked salmon and eggs. We didn’t buy much though, just a small iron-frogg and a white Mårbacka pelargonium.
